The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has today released its quarter 3 2025–26 performance report, demonstrating continued delivery of science-based regulatory outcomes that protect human health, animal welfare and the environment.

During the quarter, the APVMA completed almost 1,500 regulatory decision activities, approved 7 innovative new agricultural chemical active constituents, removed more than 500 unauthorised products from online marketplaces, and continued to strengthen collaboration with Australian and international regulatory partners.

Chief Executive Officer Scott Hansen said the report reflects the APVMA's focus on maintaining a trusted, evidence-based regulatory system while supporting innovation and confidence in Australia's agricultural and veterinary chemicals framework.

"This report demonstrates the breadth of work undertaken across the APVMA to maintain the integrity of Australia's regulatory system through rigorous scientific assessment, effective compliance and ongoing collaboration with stakeholders," Mr Hansen said.

The quarter also saw continued investment in scientific capability and strengthened international collaboration through partnerships with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and New Zealand Food Safety.

The APVMA will continue strengthening its scientific capability and regulatory systems to support a modern, transparent and trusted regulatory framework.
