The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) is hosting EPAC2026 – an international conference on Advancing Sustainability in Agriculture: Enabling Precision Application of Crop Protection Products by Inclusion in Regulatory Approaches (Processes), sponsored by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) under its Co-operative Research Programme (CRP).

What it is about

The objective of the conference is to facilitate greater understanding of new precision application technologies and the importance of including these in regulatory processes for crop protection products.

Day 1 will comprise of presentations from a range of speakers from:

  • regulatory authorities across the US, EU, UK, and Australia
  • leaders in crop protection, research, engineering, and digital technology
  • growers pioneering precision application.

Day 2 is a hands-on workshop tackling areas such as:

  • regulatory exposure
  • risk assessment
  • label terminology
  • broader regulatory processes.

The recommendations from the workshop will be provided to OECD to help shape the future of the regulation of precise application of agricultural chemical products. All details are available on epac2026.org.

Where and when it is

The conference will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 19 to 20 February immediately after evokeAG.
