Neomycin proposed regulatory decision

The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) sought written submissions on the proposed regulatory decision for the reconsideration of neomycin, which was published in the APVMA Special Gazette on 27 February 2024. All submissions were considered by the APVMA prior to finalisation of the reconsideration and publication of the final regulatory decisions.

Publication and response to submissions

The APVMA sought comment from interested stakeholders in relation to the proposed decisions on the reconsideration of neomycin and received 23 submissions. The APVMA received permission to publish 12 of these submissions, while the others were requested to remain confidential.

The submissions provided a range of views on the proposed decisions, including scientific arguments regarding the risk assessments completed by the APVMA and further information in support of those arguments.
