The APVMA Advisory Group provides expert advice and stakeholder perspectives to the APVMA on strategic matters relating to the statutory criteria of safety, efficacy, trade, and labelling in the regulation of agricultural and veterinary chemicals.
The Advisory Group supports risk-based decision making and trust in the agvet chemical regulation process through regular engagement.

Expressions of interest
Membership is determined through an Expression of Interest (EOI) process, with selection based on sector representation, expertise, and the need for a balanced range of perspectives.
EOIs can be submitted at any time and should be directed to engagement@apvma.com.au.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Have relevant expertise or experience in one or more of the following areas related to agvet chemical regulation:
- Public health
- Occupational health and safety
- Environmental protection
- Trade
- Animal health (veterinary medicines or non-target species safety)
- Point of sale
- Efficacy (veterinary chemicals or agricultural chemicals)
- Agvet chemical industry
- Represent a key stakeholder group within the sector (e.g., professional associations, industry bodies, academic institutions, or relevant organisations).
- Demonstrate an understanding of regulatory frameworks related to agricultural and veterinary chemicals, including safety, efficacy, trade, and labelling considerations.
- Commit to active participation, including attending meetings, reviewing materials, and contributing to discussions in a constructive and informed manner.
Submission requirements
Interested individuals should submit:
- A cover letter (maximum 2 pages) outlining:
- their interest in joining the advisory group
- their relevant expertise, experience, and stakeholder representation
- how they can contribute to discussions on the statutory criteria (safety, efficacy, trade, and labelling)
- any potential conflicts of interest and how they would be managed.
- A current CV highlighting relevant professional experience, qualifications, and affiliations.
Additional considerations
Applicants with conflicts of interest must outline how they will manage these appropriately.
The APVMA may prioritise applicants to ensure diversity of representation and avoid over-representation from a single company or sector.
