Product Registration Guide

Below is a summary of the process for registering products with the APVMA.

  1. Should I register my chemical product with the APVMA?
    1. Definitions and exemptions of Agricultural and Veterinary products that the APVMA registers
    2. Decide whether you are registering an Agricultural or a Veterinary product

    3. Seek advice about your product if necessary by contacting the Agricultural or Veterinary product coordinator (see below).
  2. Considerations before lodging your application

    3. List of registration consultants
  3. Understand the requirements for registering your product, including which category it fits into
    1. Work through either Ag MORAG or Vet MORAG
    2. Decide if you are submitting your application electronically (using EARS) (categories 7, 8, 10, 12, 13 and 14) or using MS Word forms (all categories - Agricultural forms and Veterinary forms)
    3. Check the MORAG guidelines to see if a guideline exists for the product you are registering
  4. Understand the labeling requirements for your product
    1. The role of a label, including labeling codes for Agricultural and Veterinary products
    2. Label approval process for Agricultural and Veterinary products
    3. Changes to existing labels
  5. Submitting your application
    1. If you completed your application using the MS Word forms, submit it to:

    2. If you completed your application electronically via EARS, follow the instructions in EARS Manual to submit it.
