Timeframe
The APVMA makes every effort to process certificates for Export of Chemical Products efficiently. Unlike applications for product registrations there are no statutory timeframe for the issue of certificates, however, to ensure the APVMA processes these certificates efficiently, the APVMA will endeavour to meet the following timeframes for processing the different types of certificates:

10 working days:
· Certificate of Export
· Certificate of Free Sale
· Certificate of Free Sale (Veterinary Only)

20 working days:
· Certificate of Export (Active Constituent)
· Certificate of Export (Exempt Product)
· Certificate of Export (Unregistered Product)
· Certificate of Export and Manufacture (Approved GMP)
· Certificate of Manufacture – agricultural products
· Certificate of Manufacture (Approved GMP) – veterinary products
· Certificate of a Pharmaceutical Product for Veterinary Use (WHO Certificate)

These timeframes are based on all the required information being supplied for the relevant certificate requested, the information being correct in accordance with APVMA records and the appropriate fee accompanying the request.

Note: A permit is required before a Certificate of Export (Unregistered Product) can be issued. This type of application will also require assessment in order for it to be issued by the APVMA. The APVMA encourages applicants to plan ahead and submit requests for Certificates of Export (Unregistered Product) allowing sufficient time for evaluation. Contact the appropriate Program area of the APVMA for more information on making an application for a permit.
