Public Release Summaries

The APVMA issues a Public Release Summary (PRS) whenever it proposes to register a new agricultural product or a new veterinary product containing a new active constituent for use on food, animals or crops.

PRSs contain brief overviews of the APVMA's assessment of an application for registration of a new product containing a new active constituent.

Invitation for Public Comment

Notices of intent to register a new product containing a new active constituent are published the APVMA Gazette each month. The APVMA invites any person to make a relevant written submission as to whether an application[s] should be granted. Submissions must be lodged within 28 days of the availability of a PRS and should state the grounds on which they are based. Such grounds should relate only to matters that the APVMA is required to take into account in deciding whether to grant registration.
