Aziprotryn (aziprotryne) is a methylthiotriazine herbicide formerly used in Australia for general weed control.
There are no products containing aziprotryn currently registered for use in Australia.
Status: Review Completed
In June 1990 the Australian Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Council (AAVCC) revoked the clearance for aziprotryn. The decision was based on concerns over the lack of toxicological and residues data.
Aziprotryn was included in Appendix M of the Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Drugs and Poisons (SUSDP); this appendix applied to ‘substances for which registration under agricultural and veterinary legislation cannot be supported by scheduling until further toxicological information becomes available’.
