Chemical regulator suspends diuron to protect waterways

The APVMA has suspended the use of diuron in high risk situations to protect aquatic ecosystems. Diuron is used for the control of both broadleaf and grass weeds in agriculture, with the suspension affecting approximately two-thirds of the 101 diuron products currently registered.

Diazinon Consolidated Human Health Risk Assessment Report Released

As a result of additional information provided to the on-going review of insecticide diazinon, the APVMA has released the Diazinon Consolidated Human Health Risk Assessment Report (PDF, 2.67kb). The December 2011 report is a consolidation of toxicological hazard assessments undertaken since the review of diazinon commenced.

Standard for the active constituent saflufenacil

The APVMA invites comment from 25 November 2011 to 23 December 2011 on the proposed standard for saflufenacil.

Proposed registration of Palladia 50mg, Palladia 15mg, and Palladia 10mg

The APVMA invites comment from 6 December 2011 to 3 January 2012 on the proposed registration of Palladia 50mg, Palladia 15mg, and Palladia 10mg. The products are to be used for the treatment of Patnaik grade II or III recurrent, cutaneous mast cell tumours in dogs.

Proposed registration of new actives bovine rotavirus and bovine coronavirus in the product Coopers Bovilis Rotavec Corona Calf Scours Vaccine (for Cattle)

The APVMA invites comment from 6 December 2011 to 3 January 2012 on the proposed registration of new actives bovine rotavirus and bovine coronavirus in the product Coopers Bovilis Rotavec Corona Calf Scours Vaccine (for Cattle).

Proposal to amend Standard 1.4.2 of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code

The APVMA invites comment until 6pm (Canberra time) 6 January 2012 on the proposal to amend Standard 1.4.2 (Maximum Residue Limits) of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.
