Spray drift interview with Dr David Loschke and Ground Cover TV
Late last year, former APVMA Principal Scientist Dr David Loschke talked to the Grains Research & Development Corporation's Ground Cover TV program about how the new APVMA spray drift regulations will affect grain growers.
Changes to the APVMA website homepage
As a result of last year's website survey, changes will be made to the APVMA homepage to include links to the most frequently visited pages and systems. These changes will take effect on Monday 31 January 2011.

Our View: Registration of sulfuryl fluoride as a fumigant in food storage and processing facilities in Australia
The APVMA has commented on the registration of sulfuryl fluoride as a fumigant in food storage in Australia in response to a recent decision by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to phase out the use of the fluoride-based fumigant in food storage and processing facilities.
Our View: Adverse experience and residue results misreported
The APVMA has provided clarification on two stories published by The Canberra Times in late December 2010 in which survey results and statistics were misreported. The two stories were:
- ‘Hormone level in livestock too high, survey finds’ - published 28 December 2010
- ‘Vaccines, sprays linked to cancers and deaths in pets' - published 29 December 2010
Revised poisons and medicines scheduling arrangements - FAQs
The Therapeutic Goods Administration has published a frequently asked questions (FAQs) fact sheet (external site) for applicants on the revised poisons and medicines scheduling arrangements that were implemented in July 2010.
Amendment to the standard for the active constituent azoxystrobin
The APVMA invites comment on a proposed change to the chemical name and active constituent composition for the standard for azoxystrobin until 10 February 2011.
Amendment to the standard for the active constituent and manufacturing concentrate propamocarb hydrochloride
The APVMA invites comment on a proposed change to the active constituent composition for the standard for propamocarb hydrochloride until 13 April 2011.
Proposed registration of the new active prodiamine in the product Barricade Turf Herbicide
The APVMA invites comment on the registration of the new active prodiamine in the product Barricade Turf Herbicide until 15 February 2011.
Proposed variation to the registration of spinetoram in the product Neo Insect Control
The APVMA invites comment on the trade implications of proposed variations to the registration of spinetoram in the product Neo Insect Control until 18 February 2011.

Export Slaughter Intervals for Sheep and Cattle - updated
The Export Slaughter Intervals for products used in sheep and cattle were updated on 12 January 2011.
