Ministerial decision on cost recovery arrangements
On 3 May 2010, the Hon Tony Burke, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry advised the APVMA that he has decided to increase the annual fee, all application and licence fees charged by the APVMA with effect from 1 July 2010. The APVMA is working to implement these changes and will notify all fee and licence paying stakeholders of the changes over the next couple of weeks.
Community questions
Two new questions posed by the community have been published on the website.
- Does the APVMA have a list of banned chemicals?
- What needs to happen before the APVMA can take a chemical product off the Australian market?
Consultation on the review of registration and manufacturing processes for veterinary disinfectants
The APVMA is seeking comment on the current efficacy data requirements for registration of disinfectants for veterinary use and the process by which they are manufactured. Submissions close 5pm, Friday 25 June 2010.
Consultation on the spray drift review of MCPA
The APVMA has initiated systematic spray drift reviews starting with the review of the selective herbicide MCPA.A scoping document on the MCPA review is available for public comment until 28 May 2010.
Veterinary Medicines Science Fellows Symposium - a success
The APVMA hosted a Science Fellows Symposium on 19 April 2010. The theme of this year's symposium was 'Current and future challenges for veterinary medicines in Australia’. Presentation slides and summaries are now available.
