Updates to questions about recent changes to APVMA legislation

The APVMA is continuously updating the frequently asked questions about the recent legislative changes in line with enquiries we have received from registrants.

In the last two weeks the following frequently asked questions have been updated:

  • What format will be used for the label approval number?
  • Do all the approved RLP’s need to be included on the MPL?
  • Do the existing Labelling Codes still apply?

Australian Plague Locust Commission planning well advanced

The APVMA published a summary on the proposed planned measures to control locust plagues in south-eastern Australia in the coming spring and summer.

Preliminary findings on the reconsideration of Thiophanate-methyl

The APVMA invites comment on the preliminary findings and proposed actions in the Thiophanate-methyl Preliminary Review Findings Report until 31 August 2010

Industry Technical Committee discontinued from 24 May 2010

Following consultation with the Industry Technical Committee (ITC) and the Industry Liaison Committee (ILC), it was determined that arising technical issues could be better addressed through ILC.

US EPA sets timeframe for phase out of endosulfan

Assessment of fenthion residue data continuing

The status of Part 2 of the fenthion review, concerning fenthion products used on food-producing plants and animals has been updated, along with the following frequently asked questions:

  • What is the likely outcome of Part 2 of the review regarding the food crop uses of fenthion?
  • Who is responding to the possible impact of the review of fenthion on fruit fly control?
  • What did the APVMA find in Part 1 of the review?
  • What are we proposing to do about it?
  • What is happening overseas?

Updated list of approved active constituents

The record for approved active constituents was updated on 30 July 2010.

Updated Maximum Residue Limits (MRL) Standards

The MRL Standard tables were updated on 2 August 2010.
