Registration Liaison Committee discussion on Phenoxy Herbicides

A summary of the Committee’s out-of-session meeting to discuss phenoxy herbicides and spray drift risk have been approved and are now available on the website.

Website updates following Federal Court decision on Imtrade

The APVMA has removed reference to Imtrade from its list of current compliance notices and product recalls and reissued the Record of Approved Active Constituents, following the Federal Court decision that the APVMA’s actions in removing some product approvals and registration should be reversed. The APVMA issued media releases on 12 and 26 September outlining the court’s decision and the subsequent implications.

Spray Drift

New information about no-spray zones and a range of spray drift scenarios for different application methods is now available. The new information supports the APVMA Operating Principles in Relation to Spray Drift.

Your comments sought

The APVMA is seeking comment on whether an application for registration of the product Hero Selective Herbicide with the active constituent Ethoxysulfuron should be granted. A public release summary is available and comments are sought by 28 October 2008.

The APVMA has before it an application from Monsanto Australia Ltd to increase the use rate of Roundup PowerMAX Herbicide in pre-harvest sorghum. The APVMA is seeking comments on the potential for Roundup PowerMAX Herbicide to unduly prejudice Australian export trade when used at the increased rate on pre-harvest sorghum.Comments will be received until 31 October 2008.
