APVMA responds to Sydney Morning Herald special investigation

Commencing October 22, the Sydney Morning Herald printed a series of articles critical of the chemical regulation system in Australia in general and the APVMA in particular. Many of the criticisms were unfounded and misleading. The APVMA responded with an open letter in the Herald on October 25 and has sought a formal right of reply. Our response to some of the key criticisms in the articles.

Listed and reserved chemical products - Amendments to Agvet Code Regulations

Amendments have been made to the Agvet Code Regulations to list two classes of chemical products that may be granted listed registration and 11 classes of chemical products that are reserved from registration in accordance with the Agvet Codes. Read full details of the changes.

Annual Report 06/07

The APVMA’s has tabled its latest annual report  in parliament and the report is now available for download from the site. 

Registration forms on the website

We’ve updated all of the product registration forms on our website after a number of people reported problems with accessing and using them. When using forms from our website, please ensure you save a copy to your computer desktop before starting to fill it in.To find a form, click on the forms link found at the top of each APVMA website page and choose the first link Registering a chemical product. If you have any further difficulties with downloading or using the forms please report to the contact officer for the relevant program:

Written comments are invited on a draft revision of the APVMA’s operational notice Natural Health Products are they Veterinary Medicines? The new draft and existing notice are available on the public consultation page.
