The APVMA is currently seeking comment on a wide variety of topics and it is recommended that the APVMA Home Page and the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette – Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals be viewed on a regular basis and/or you may subscribe online for regular announcements. Some current topics seeking stakeholder input on the APVMA Home Page and Gazette include:
- Proposed Registration of New Chemical Products – Public Release Summary available for comment
- Ecocarb Fungicide (potassium bicarbonate) for the control of powdery mildew on grapevines and roses. Call for comment by 2nd November 2004.
- Incurin (oestriol) for use orally in dogs to aid in the treatment of hormone-responsive urinary incontinence due to sphincter mechanism incompetence in ovariohysterectomised bitches. Call for comment by 2nd November 2004.
- Proposed Extension of Use of an Existing (Registered) Chemical Product – Trade Advice Notice available for comment
- Metacam® 20 mg/mL Solution for Injection (20 mg/mL meloxicam) to extend the use of the registered product to pigs for: (i) to reduce the symptoms of lameness and inflammation associated with acute, non-infectious locomotor disorders; and (ii) to reduce clinical signs of inflammation, oppose the effects of endotoxins, and hasten recovery in cases of puerperal septicaemia and toxaemia (mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome), when used in combination with appropriate antibiotic therapy. Call for comment by 2nd November 2004.

Maldison. The APVMA has suspended the registrations of six products containing maldison.
Dimetridazole. Draft Report of the Review of Approvals and Registrations related to dimetridazole.
Call for comment by 7th December 2004.
Benomyl. The APVMA has extended the period of suspension for benomyl until 31 December 2004.
