Stakeholder consultation

The APVMA is currently seeking comment on a wide variety of topics and it is recommended that the APVMA Home Page and the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette - Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals be viewed on a regular basis and/or you may subscribe online for regular announcements. Subscribe here to EMAIL DISTRIBUTION LIST for announcements.

Some current topics seeking stakeholder input on the APVMA Home Page and Gazette include:

  • Proposed Registration of a New Chemical Product - Public Release Summary available for comment
    • Paramite Selective Miticide (etoxazole) for the control of two-spotted mite and European red mite in apples and two-spotted mite and bean spider mite in cotton. Call for comment by 1st June 2004.
  • Proposed Extension of Use of an Existing Chemical Product - Trade Advice Notice available for comment
    • Tracer Naturalyte Insect Control (spinosad) to extend use of this product to include the control of Heliothis (Helicoverpa spp.) and loopers (Chrysodeixis spp. and Thysanoplusia orichalcea) on pulses (chick peas, faba beans, field peas, lentils, lupins, kidney beans, mung beans, navy beans, soy beans) and sorghum. Call for comment by 1st June 2004.
  • Chemical Review
    • Dimethoate and Omethoate. The Reconsideration of Approvals and Registrations related to both dimethoate and omethoate has been announced, submissions addressing the areas of concern noted in the scope review document must be in writing and reach the APVMA by 2 July 2004. see Gazette notice and Scope Review Document
    • Fenitrothion. Draft outcomes of the Review of Approvals and Registrations related to fenitrothion. Call for comment by 28th May 2004. see Gazette notice and Draft Review Report
    • Benomyl. The APVMA has extended the period of suspension for benomyl until 31 December 2004.
