Stakeholder consultation
The APVMA is currently seeking comment on a wide variety of topics and it is recommended that the APVMA Home Page and the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette – Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals be viewed on a regular basis and/or you may subscribe online for regular announcements. Some current topics seeking stakeholder input on the APVMA Home Page and Gazette include:
- Proposed Registration of a New Chemical Product containing an existing active constituent – Trade Advice Notice available for comment
- Bayticol Pour-on Live Export Clearing Tickicide (flumethrin) as a clearing tickicide on live exported cattle. Call for comment by 10th August 2004.
- Proposed Registration of a New “Combination” Chemical Product – Trade Advice Notice available for comment
- Krismat WG Herbicide (ametryn + trifloxysulfuron sodium) for use on sugarcane to control various weeds. Call for comment by 10th August 2004.
- Proposed Extension of Use of Existing Chemical Products – Trade Advice Notices available for comment
- Dithane Rainshield Fungicide (mancozeb) to extend its use for the control of Alternaria leaf spot of cotton (Pima var. only), various diseases of pulse crops, papaya (pawpaw) and custard apples. Call for comment by 10th August 2004.
- Mavrik Aquaflow Insecticide to extend its use into asparagus, cherries, peaches, plums and table grapes. Call for comment by 10th August 2004.
- Sumitomo Sumisclex Broadacre Fungicide (procymidone) to extend its use for control of grey mould (Botrytis cinerea and Botrytis fabae) in lentils. Call for comment by 10th August 2004.
- Chemical Review

- Benomyl. The APVMA has extended the period of suspension for benomyl until 31 December 2004.
