The APVMA is currently seeking comment on a wide variety of topics and it is recommended that the APVMA Home Page and the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette - Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals be viewed on a regular basis and/or you may subscribe online for regular announcements.Subscribe here (selecting the Permit Scheme option) to receive EMAIL DISTRIBUTION LIST for announcements.

Some current topics seeking stakeholder input on the APVMA Home Page and Gazette include:

• Proposed Registration of a New Chemical Product - Public Release Summary available for comment
  • SmartFresh (1-methylcyclopropene) for post harvest treatment of certain fruits and vegetables in enclosed storage rooms to improve quality of produce. Call for comment by 2nd March 2004.
• Proposed Extension of Use of an Existing Chemical Product - Trade Advice Notice available for comment
  • Dectomax Pour-On Endectocide (doramectin) to extend its use on lactating dairy cattle. Call for comment by 2nd March 2004.
• Chemical Review
  • Closing date for submission of data for the reconsideration of approvals and registrations related to Fipronil has been extended from the previously announced date of 31 January 2004 to 31 March 2004. Gazette notice. Also refer to the Scope Review Document (September 2003).
  • Draft Report of the Review of Arsenic Treatment Products - call for comment by 29th February 2004.
