Stakeholder consultation

The APVMA is currently seeking comment on a wide variety of topics and it is recommended that the APVMA Home Page and the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette – Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals be viewed on a regular basis and/or you may subscribe online for regular announcements. Subscribe here to EMAIL DISTRIBUTION LIST for announcements.

Some current topics seeking stakeholder input on the APVMA Home Page and Gazette include:

  • Proposed Registration of New Chemical Products – Public Release Summary available for comment
    • Anazolic (gamma-oryzanol) a new powder feed additive product for use orally to stimulate the appetite of horses in training. Call for comment by 2 January 2005
    • Tildren Injection (tiludronic acid) a new product for use in horses for the treatment of lameness associated with bone and cartilage changes. Call for coment by 2 January 2005.
  • Chemical Review
    • Procymidone The horticultural fungicide procymidone is to be reviewed and new label instructions for the use of products issued as part of a new package of regulatory measured announced by the APVMA. Call for comment 25 February 2005.
    • Atrazine The APVMA has released the draft final review report for atrazine for comment. Call for comment by 25 February 2005.
    • Virginiamycin The APVMA has released the findings of its review of virginiamycin, an antibiotic employed in the treatment of food-producing animals that will result in a number of changes to the way it is used in the future. Call for comment by 23 May 2005.
    • Maldison. The APVMA has suspended the registrations of six products containing maldison.
    • Benomyl. The APVMA has extended the period of suspension for benomyl until 31 December 2004.
