![]() Dr Eva Bennet-Jenkins Chief Executive Officer Dr Bennet-Jenkins has worked at the APVMA for 11 years in various positions in the Veterinary Medicines Program, the former Registration Customer Service Section and was also Program Manager of the Chemical Review Program. Her most recent position was Program Manager, Pesticides a position she has held since January 2004. She has represented the APVMA at a number of national and international forums and has been very active at the OECD Working Group on Pesticides and associated steering groups. Dr Bennet-Jenkins holds a PhD in biochemistry (focussing on parasites of cattle and sheep) and has had 13 years experience at the Australian National University as a lecturer and in research in the areas of biochemistry, zoology and molecular biology.

![]() Mr Martin Holmes Program Manager, Veterinary Medicines Division BVSc, G Dip PSM Mr Holmes is a veterinarian who has worked in the fields of private veterinary practice, laboratory animal science, field regulatory programs, quarantine, and export inspection and certification of grains, meat and live animals. Prior to joining the APVMA in 2003, Mr Holmes spent ten years working as a senior officer in the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS). He was responsible for quarantine and inspection services in South Australia then meat inspection operations in New South Wales. Mr Holmes spent three years in Korea where he represented AQIS in Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. On his return to Australia Mr Holmes was the manager responsible for the programs of live animal imports, animal quarantine stations, live animal exports and import of biological products. The Program Manager, Veterinary Medicines Division has overall responsibility for the APVMA’s activities relating to the evaluation, registration and review of veterinary medicines. |
![]() Dr David Loschke Principal Scientist, Agricultural Chemicals BSc, PhD. Dr Loschke has a background in molecular genetics and biochemistry and worked as a field agronomist and consultant before pursuing a distinguished research and teaching career in Germany and the United States of America. For eight years he was Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Florida. Dr Loschke moved to Australia in 1989 to take up a position as Research Fellow, later Research Team Leader in the Plant Microbe Interaction Group at the Research School of Biological Sciences at the Australian National University where he also lectured in undergraduate biology. Dr Loschke joined the Chemical Review section of the APVMA in 1997.In addition to his work in leading complex and challenging chemical reviews such as endosulfan, he has been active in addressing important issues ranging from pesticide odour, OH&S assessment advice and spray drift. The Principal Scientist, Agricultural Chemicals is responsible for the quality of science from the Pesticides Division and for leading the provision of scientific advice in relation to pesticides across the APVMA. |
