The Science Fellows Program was established in 2006 with the aim of enhancing the quality of regulatory science in the APVMA.
The Science Fellows are eminent national and international scientists who have been appointed to assist with the training of APVMA staff and to provide high-level external scientific advice. These scientists have been specifically selected to provide external expertise when required, to the APVMA's Veterinary Medicines Program .
The reappointment of two current Science Fellows, Professor Jock McLean and Professor Terry O’Neill, for a second term reflects their valuable contributions over the past two years.
The collaboration of these Science Fellows with the new appointments of Professor Mary Barton, Professor Glenn Browning, Professor Colin Chapman, Professor Nick Sangster and Professor Ted Whittem will provide the APVMA with a valuable resource of external expertise to assist in its regulatory activities. Dr Dieter Arnold from Berlin will continue to provide expert advice in the field of residues of veterinary drugs in foods.
