In June 2010 Mayvic Pty Ltd t/a Sweda conducted a voluntary recall of the unregistered chemical products listed below:

  • K9 Care – Skin Care Shampoo
  • K9 Care – Lanolin Dry Skin / Coat Shampoo
  • K9 Care – Ear Cleansing Drops
  • K9 Care – Flea Repellent Shampoo

This recall was for all batches and packsizes supplied into the Australian market and extended to the retail level.

Voluntary Recall - Organic Formulations

In September 2010 Organic Formulations conducted a voluntary recall of the unregistered chemical product Emma Cool BuggerOff Personal Insect Repellent.

This recall was for all batches and pack sizes supplied into the Australian market and extended to the wholesale/distributor level.

In May 2010 Barmac Industries Pty Ltd conducted a voluntary recall of the suspended agricultural products listed below:

  • Barmac Quintozene 750 Fungicide (51684)

This recall was for all batches and all pack sizes supplied into the Australian market and extended to material at the point of retail sale.

Voluntary Recall – Bayer Cropscience Pty Ltd

In May 2010 Bayer Cropscience Pty Ltd conducted a voluntary recall of the withdrawn agricultural product Bayer Quintozene Seed Dressing Fungicide (57927)

This recall was for all batches and all pack sizes supplied into the Australian market and extended to material still retained at the point of retail sale.

Voluntary Recall – Bayer CropScience Pty Ltd

In September 2010 Bayer CropScience Pty Ltd conducted a voluntary recall of the registered chemical product listed below:

  • Precept 300 EC Selective Herbicide.

This recall was conducted due to Bayer CropScience voluntarily reporting to the APVMA that the product, Precept 300 EC Selective Herbicide had a hazy precipitate appearing at the bottom of the containers.

Voluntary Recall – Dermcare-Vet Pty Ltd

In September 2010 Dermcare-Vet Pty Ltd conducted a voluntary recall of the registered veterinary chemical product listed below:

  • Pyohex Medicated Shampoo

This recall was for one batch of the 250mL pack size and was supplied into the New Zealand market, no product was distributed within Australia. The recall was conducted due to a microbial contamination.

The reason for these voluntary recalls is the products do not meet specification.

Apex Laboratories Pty Ltd is conducting a voluntary recall of the registered agricultural chemical product.

  • Butalone granules analgesic & anti-inflammatory (35620) 100g packs.
The reason for this voluntary recall is the shown batches of product were supplied with an incorrect sized dispensing spoon.

April 2009

Voluntary Recall – Virbac (Australia) Pty Ltd

The APVMA recently assisted and monitored a recall conducted by Virbac (Australia) Pty Ltd of the registered veterinary chemical product Multimin Injection for Cattle (59628). Virbac voluntarily and promptly reported to the APVMA that it had found that affected product contained an unexpected fine crystalline precipitate.

After initial discussion, Virbac was able to satisfy the APVMA that the issue with the product was of negligible risk, and were able to provide robust clear direction on how they intended to remove the affected product efficiently and effectively from the Australian marketplace.

As occurred in this case, the APVMA encourages the self –reporting of issues and would like to thank Virbac for displaying strong product stewardship in regard to this issue.

Voluntary Recall – Bloop Products

Bloop Products Pty Ltd is conducting a voluntary recall of the unregistered agricultural chemical product: Bugz Off Insect Repellent Wipes. The reason for the voluntary recall is the product is not a registered agricultural chemical product.

  • Yates Clonex Rooting Hormone Gel Purple  (48143). Batch numbers of affected product: 8986 and 9470

Voluntary Recall – Tecpolyprints Pty Ltd

Tecpolyprints Pty Ltd is conducting a voluntary recall of the following unregistered agricultural chemical products: Mortein Instant Kill; Falcon Aerosol Insecticide; Raid Maxs (two varieties Lavender and Chanh). The reason for the voluntary recall is these products are not registered agricultural chemical products.

** Please note the voluntary recall does not apply to Mortein products supplied by Reckitt Benckiser Australia and which have the Australian Reckitt Benckiser address and APVMA (or NRA) approval number on the label. Please note the voluntary recall does not apply to Raid products supplied by SC Johnson Australia and which have the Australian SC Johnson address and APVMA (or NRA) approval number on the label.

Voluntary Recall – O.M. Enterprises Pty Ltd

O.M. Enterprises Pty Ltd is conducting a voluntary recall of the following unregistered agricultural chemical products: Cyco A and Cyco B. The reason for the voluntary recall is the shown products are not registered agricultural chemical products and contain undeclared plant growth regulators.

Monsanto Australia Limited is conducting a voluntary recall of the registered agricultural chemical product: Ready to Use Roundup Weedkiller Pull n Spray 5Lt (B#D802639). The reason for the voluntary recall is the batch of product concerned does not have the correct front and rear labels.

Voluntary Recall – Yates Australia

Yates Australia is conducting a voluntary recall of the registered agricultural chemical product: Yates Double Action Weed n Feed 4Lt (B#YS080146.09/08). The reason for the voluntary recall is the batch of product concerned does not meet specification and may have a detrimental effect on lawns.

**What is a Voluntary Recall – A company recalls a product with APVMA oversight only. No compulsory notice is issued by the APVMA in regard to this type of recall. However, the APVMA may issue a compulsory notice if the APVMA considers that the voluntary recall actions undertaken by a company are not sufficient to remove non-compliant product/s from the Australian market.
