Special review of registration and associated label approvals of selected sheep ectoparasiticides

CORRECTION

A notice was issued in NRA Gazette No.9 of 7 September 1999, announcing the NRA had decided to conduct a special review of selected sheep ectoparasiticide products. Appendix 1 to the notice listed products affected by the first stage of the review. The NRA has become aware that the information contained in Appendix 1 was incorrect with regard to the following points:

1. The long wool product Cooper’s 4 In 1 Dip/46295, containing Diazinon, is registered to Schering Plough Animal Health Ltd, not Novartis Animal Health Australasia Limited.

2. The long wool product WSD Diazinon for Sheep, Cattle, Goats and Pigs/39572 is registered to Western Stock Distributors, not Virbac (Australia) Ltd.

3. The synthetic pyrethroid products Duracide Sustained Action Spray On Lice Treatment For Shorn Sheep/38355 and Vanquish Long Wool Spray-On Lice Treatment And Blowfly Strike Preventative For Long Woolled Sheep And Unshorn Lambs/38354, containing Alpha-cypermethrin, are registered to Schering Plough Animal Health, not Pfizer Animal Health, and

4. The product Outflank Off-Shears Pour-On Sheep Lice Treatment/47845, containing the active constituent cypermethrin, registered to Fort Dodge Australia Pty Limited, was inadvertently omitted.

In addition, it is noted that Novartis Animal Health Australasia Limited has elected not to renew the registration of 6 products (NCRIS Nos. 36517, 36519, 36523, 39980, 40136 and 38914) as detailed separately in the September NRA gazette (page 57).
