External legal expenditure

Paragraph 11.1(da) of the Legal Services Directions 2005 (external site) requires that, within 60 days after the end of the financial year, agencies regulated by the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997 are to report to the Office of Legal Services Coordination on their legal services expenditure.

Paragraph 11.1(ba) of the Legal Services Directions 2005 requires that, by 30 October each year, agencies make publicly available records of the Legal Services Expenditure for the previous year.

The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority’s total external legal expenditure (GST inclusive) for 2010/2011 was as follows:

Internal legal expenditure

The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority’s total internal legal expenditure (GST inclusive) 2010/2011 was $901,433.55.  This represents the cost of maintaining an in-house legal program with administrative staff.
